Mapping (For John) is a photographic collage (50 inch diameter) reconstructing a spiral pathway of 39 locations through out Miami Beach. The project was sponsored by the Miami Beach Cultural Council in the summer of 2003.

Beginning my journey in my studio (Jackie Gleason’s former dressing room in the Jackie Gleason Theater), I photographed first, myself, and then local structures around my body and immediate environment. Then utilizing a global positioning system, I traveled to all 39 locations and created a series of photographs applying a 360 degree viewpoint of each location.

The digital documentation is sewn together, threading conjointly this meandering journey which migrates out from my personal perceptual sphere into the larger more public context of Miami Beach.
